DUI and towing your car
When you are arrested for a DUI in Nevada, the police have the authority to order your vehicle towed to an impound lot. You are responsible for all of the costs associated with towing and storing your vehicle. The charges incur daily; therefore, we recommend your pick up your car as soon as possible upon release from jail to avoid additional charges.
Towing companies and their impound lots in southern Nevada are privately owned, but you should call the non-emergency police number by dialing 311. The police will obtain your information and tell you where your car is located. Because each towing company runs its business differently, we strongly recommend that you call the towing company before you drive there to ask their hours of operation, what you need to bring, and what methods of payment they accept.
